A Fond Farewell

Over the last 12 years, I have enjoyed representing the local art community, cultivating relationships with artists, providing space for community events, and supporting local non-profit organizations. I have worked hard to make OOAK and Micaville a destination for art lovers. Now, I have decided to close OOAK, sell the building, and move out of the area to start an exciting new chapter.

Although I never planned on a career running an art gallery, it has been a joy. I am very proud of the work I’ve done and the impact I’ve had on my local art community and visitors to our area. Twelve years has been a good run, but I’m ready to get back in the studio to create art of my own again. I have no idea where my creative journey will take me, but I’m eager to find out.

I want to take a moment to thank the people who have done me the honor of trusting me to be their boss: Ellen, Emily, Jill, Brenna, Bekah, Heidi, Becky, and Ben. As a business owner, I learned to surround myself with the best people, and these people are the best. And I certainly wouldn’t have made it where I am without Lynda Gayle and Estela who helped launch this dream.

I am grateful to all my artists for trusting me to exhibit and sell their work over the years, and I would like to thank our visitors and customers. OOAK would not have been as successful without your support and loyalty.

OOAK will be closing its doors on Sunday June 4, the last day of the June TRA Studio Tour. That will be our last day open to the public.
